I look in my glasses to see if there's any dirt or anything... Damn dishwashers don't do a very thorough job.
But to answer your question, yes, you're probably the only person who does that...
I rinse the glass out first.

I tend to smell the glass, to see if there is a soapy smell, because my sisters would sometimes rinse the dishes in cold water as opposed to hot, and as such it would leave a residue. I've carried this into my adult life strangely.
